MITCHELL RULES ROSEVILLE WITH ANOTHER NASCAR SWEEP AT ALL AMERICAN SPEEDWAY

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (August 24, 2024) – Loomis’ Kenna Mitchell swept the NASCAR Berco Redwood Late Models and JM Environmental Wild West Super Series again at All American Speedway in Roseville on Saturday, for her second sweep of the stock car action during the track’s historic 70th season. Speedway officials persevered over nearly two hours of afternoon rain to deliver every scheduled lap for the seven divisions competing. Lineups were set by track points.

11 cars started the NASCAR Berco Redwood Pro Late Model Series feature with Mitchell quickly outfoxing Thomas Martin of Auburn to take the lead. The five Jr. Late Model Series drivers in attendance raced in a race within a race for both division’s points as well.
Glick and Fort Bragg’s Trey Daniels tangled for fourth into turn one for a caution flag. The battle for the Jr. Late Model lead boiled over later when Glick and Colton Nelson collided in turn three on lap 22, causing heavy damage to the nose of Nelson.

Mitchell paced the final 18 laps for a one second advantage over Martin at the checkered flag. Aidan Daniels of Fort Bragg was third with his brother Trey driving through the pack to finish fourth. Glick finished fifth to lead the Jr. Late Model contingent.

Mitchell swept around the outside of 2020 track champion Cole Moore at the green flag for the 100-lap feature for the JM Environmental Wild West Super Series. Mitchell and Moore then raced side-by-side for the top spot before Moore seized the lead on lap 11.

Moore led the field into the first competition caution on lap 27. Following the caution on lap 27, Mitchell found herself as low as fourth in the order and lost touch of the top three.

2008 champion Eric Schmidt of Roseville worked his way to the inside of Moore to take over the lead on lap 66. Schmidt chose the bottom against Cole Moore for a shootout after the scheduled caution on lap 81. Moore’s No. 99 started to spark wildly on the outside, while Schmidt got sideways on the bottom and pulled out of line as well.

Both Schmidt and Moore retired from the race to bring out a caution, with Mitchell sneaking through to retake the lead as a result. David Dunlap then stopped on the top of turn three as the field was coming to the restart green flag as well.

The race restarted with Mitchell on the inside of 2021 track champion John Moore for a 16-lap run to the finish. Mitchell cleared Moore on lap 85 and darted away for her second consecutive Super Series triumph. John Moore, Dane Nissen of Williams, Chase Lopez, and Cole Moore were the top-five at the checkered flag.

The Velocity Solar Modifieds feature saw Sammy Nuno of Windsor overcome a seventh place starting position to win the 30-lap race. Lincoln’s Luke Kaper led the first 18-laps of competition, including holding off Brad Cobabe in a side-by-side race on a mid-race restart. Nuno drove into the lead in turn four on lap 19 before a caution flew for Richard Poppert of Citrus Heights spinning on the backstretch. Nuno led the rest of the way over Kaper, Cobabe, Mike Gorham of Lincoln, and Lincoln’s Will Harmon.

The night’s largest field was in the F4 division which put on a 30-lap feature-long duel between former champion Matthew Fuhs of Elverta and John Sproule of Orangevale. Sproule worked his way forward from an eleventh place starting position to get within a car’s length of Fuhs with five laps to go.

The leaders went three-wide in lapped traffic but Fuhs held the highline to maintain the lead. Sproule made the inside work to take the lead on lap 26. Sproule topped Fuhs, Ethan Rumsey, Elverta’s Ray Molina, and rookie Jayden Williams of Woodland.

Roseville’s Phil Wilkins cruised to victory in the NAPA Auto Parts Super Stock 30-lap feature for his second consecutive win in the division. Tim Walters finished second over Ryan Skidmore, Gary Eisenhour, and Larry Thornhill.

Madera’s CJ Dizney dominated the Pressler Properties INEX Legends 30-lap feature for his first ever Legends win. He was followed by Stockton’s Donny Darter, Tyler Batzianis of Elk Grove, David Shelly of Roseville, and Tiffany Enriquez of Lincoln.

The racing action continues at All American Speedway for NASCAR First Responders Night on September 7. JM Environmental Wild West Super Series Late Models, Berco Redwood Pro Late Models, Velocity Solar Modifieds, NAPA Auto Parts Super Stocks, F4s, NorCal Pressler Properties Legends in an  INEX National Qualifier, and Jr. Late Models will be competing.
