DUAL AT DELTA BRINGS DOUBLEHEADER WEEKEND TO STOCKTON

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (August 28, 2024) – This Saturday and Sunday on Labor Day weekend will feature a full weekend of Micro Sprint excitement at Delta Speedway presented by Valley Strong Credit Union with the Dual at Delta. Both nights are complete points races with action for Super 600, Non-Wing, Restricted, and Jr. Sprints. Photo by Saul Leon

Spectator gates open at 5pm each night at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds 1/7th mile dirt track. General Admission tickets are just $10 daily for adults while juniors ages 6-12, seniors, and military are $5, and kids 5 & under are FREE! Pit passes are $25 each night.

Fans who cannot attend the action in person can view flag-to-flag coverage on Fast Four Media, the speedway’s 2024 Pay-Per-View partner. Pit gates open at noon with the driver’s meeting at 4:30pm. Hot laps and qualifying will follow.

Following his third consecutive sweep of the Super 600 and Non-Wing features on August 17, Jeffrey Pahule of Brentwood has taken control of both divisions’ championships. Pahule aims to join previous Delta Speedway championship sweepers Austin Wood, Nikko Panella, Caden Sarale, and Brandon Carey. Previously thought to be a rare and impossible challenge, the sweep has become a routine sight at Delta Speedway. Each of the previous sweepers had a common theme of well-prepared cars and sizeable experience at the speedway. Pahule meets that criteria and hopes to have the formula to pull off the notable accomplishment in 2024.

Pahule’s three victories in the winged Super 600 action give him a ten point advantage over Madera’s Logan Trevino heading into the Dual. Raio Salmon is winless on the year but has scored five top-five finishes to run fifth in the order. Mattix Salmon of Fresno has one victory from fourth in the order ahead of Isabel Barnes of Brentwood in fifth. Super 600 races in a 30-lap features during the Dual.

His Non-Wing lead is sizeable and nearly insurmountable. Pahule has scored five consecutive victories after retiring from the opening night battle late in the race with a flat tire. His lead stands at 91 markers over 2013 Super 600 champion Dalton Hill of Madera Ranchos. Mattix Salmon is third followed by Pleasanthill’s Colin Kirby and Manteca’s TK O’Brien. Non-Wing also races for 30-laps on each night.

Hayden Stepps of Oakdale has built up a 32-point cushion in the Restricted championship battle, thanks to three victories. Jackson Tardiff of Vacaville has a single win this year and is second in the order. Levi Osborne of Tracy remains within striking distance at a 59-point deficit with four top-five runs. 2023 Jr. Sprints champion Briggs Davis of Manteca remains in fourth while Dean Skrifvars has kept the fifth spot throughout the summer. Restricted battles for 25-laps each evening of the Dual.

Perhaps the most hotly contested championship in 2024 will be in the Jr. Sprints class where Haven Sherman of Citrus Heights enjoys a scant 24 point lead over Oakdale’s Heston Stepps. Each has two wins this year. Easton Wright of Martinez is just 39 points out of the lead. Lucas Fenn of Oakley and David Anderson of Clayton round out the top-five drivers. A 20-lap feature awaits on each night of the Dual at Delta.
