SECOND ANNUAL HIGH DESERT HUSTLE RINGS IN NEW YEAR IN RENO WITH WORLD’S RICHEST OUTLAW KART RACE
RENO, NEVADA (December 18, 2024) – The richest Outlaw Kart event in the world returns to the Biggest Little City to ring in the New Year, December 30, 2024-January 2, 2025, for the High Desert Hustle. Over 250 Outlaw Kart racers have pre-entered for the thrilling four-night spectacular on a temporary dirt oval inside the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center. Jacksonville, Oregon’s Tanner Holmes won a nail-biting finale in February’s inaugural running, narrowly topping 13-year-old Aiden Larimer for the coveted win.
Open 500s return and will be joined by Beginner Box Stock, Box Stock, 250s, Non-Wing, and caged Clone. Spectator general admission tickets are priced at $20 per day, available at the gates on race day. Fast Four Media will once again present live coverage of the spectacular event at www.FastFour.TV Pit passes are $35 per night. Driver’s meetings at set for 1:15pm all four nights.
Preliminary action kicks off Monday night with complete shows for Cage Clone, Beginner Box Stock, 250 Intermediate, and Box Stock. Non-Wing takes center stage Monday night with their complete championship program with a $1,500 to win feature.
Preliminary racing continues Tuesday night with Beginner Box Stock, Open 500, and Box Stock. It will be followed by a New Year’s Eve celebration with a free concert starring Travis Bolt. On Wednesday night, 250 Intermediate, Open 500, and Cage Clone compete.
The preliminary races set the points for the lower mains and features on Thursday’s Rex Clark Championship Night. K through D Mains will begin at 1:30pm. Opening ceremonies are set for approx. 4:30pm with the dashes, C-Mains, B-Mains, and championship features to follow. 250 Intermediate will pay $3,000 to win, Box Stock $2,000 to win, Cage Clone $1,500 to win, and Beginner Box Stock $1,000 to win.
The event reaches its crescendo with the $10,000 to win, $500 to start Open 500 feature during Thursday’s finale. Tanner Holmes returns to headline the Open 500 entry list. Aiden Larimer will be back for a second try after coming home just .179 seconds short of victory in the memorable inaugural battle with Holmes.
Roseville, Calif.’s Colby Copeland won three preliminary features in the inaugural High Desert Hustle but was unable to close out a big win in the finales. Copeland is again entered to take on the Open 500, Non-Wing, and Cage Clone divisions. Landon Brooks of Rio Oso, Calif. won the other Open 500 preliminary in the inaugural event before a sixth-place finish in the final. He returns in search of the five-figure payday. 250 Intermediate winner Braxton Foster has moved up to the 500 ranks for the second annual Hustle as well.
