FIFTH ANNUAL OLGA’S CALIFORNIA DREAM 100 BRINGS LARGE FIELD OF MINI STOCKS TO MADERA SPEEDWAY

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (August 13, 2024) – One of the largest fields of Mini Stocks on the west coast in several years will converge on Madera Speedway in Madera, Calif. on Saturday night in the Olga’s California Dream 100 paying $3,000 to win. The Desert Food Mart Cougar Café sponsored event features over 50 pre-entries of competitors from both dirt and asphalt backgrounds, with both front wheel drive and rear wheel drive four-cylinder machines. They will share the one-third mile paved Madera Speedway at the Madera Fairgrounds for the spectacular fifth annual event.

Saturday’s action will also be filmed for broadcast on MAVTV, part of the Mission Invitational Series.

All tickets for Saturday night are just $15 with kids 5 and under FREE!  Pit gates open at noon with practice at 1:30pm. Qualifying is set for 3pm followed by heat races. The Fast Dash and B Dash will be at 5:15pm with opening ceremonies set for 5:40pm. The Pro Mini Stock C- and B-Mains, plus features for the Pro Sportsman, Mini Super Toyotas, and Madera Late Models will follow. The Olga’s California Dream 100 closes the show!

Northwest drivers have prevailed in all four California Dreams so far, with Thomas Stanford, Terry Armstrong, Brian Boman, and Drew Crenshaw visiting victory lane. Crenshaw became the first front wheel drive winner, boosting the confidence of the large field of front wheel drive California competitors set to compete in the 2024 edition. 2021 Dream winner Armstrong is one of three teams entered who have competed in every Dream 100.

California champions and race winners in the field include Manteca’s Josh Cross, the Stockton 99 Speedway champion, All American Speedway race winners John Sproule and Vic Theberge, a host of competitors from the West Coast Sport Compacts dirt series, and Madera Jr. Late Model race winner Joey Kennealy representing the speedway with a former Madera Toyota Sedan entry.

Casey Jeske of Spokane, Wash. is the 2023 Hermiston Speedway Mini Stock champion while fellow Spokane racer Bryce Rupert brings a 2019 Northwest Mini Stock Tour championship to Madera. Jonathan Quinton of Smithfield, UT is a former champion at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho as well.

Entries from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington are represented on the wide-ranging entry list.

Not only will the drivers race for $3,000 to win the feature, but there will also be numerous cash and bonus prizes offered by the event sponsors during the heat races, the C-Main, the B-Main, the lap 50 halfway break, and much more.

Trevor Schlundt leads the Madera Late Models standings with a 40-lap feature on tap. His advantage over Olivia Manke is a scant seven points with Jason Aguirre of Atwater in third and just nine points in arrears. Rick Thompson and Mike Hensley round out the top-five.

Steve Schermerhorn is the points leader in the new Madera Pro Sportsman division ahead of Brian Taylor and Tyler Holden. Schermerhorn will be looking for his first win of the season during a 30-lap feature.

Saturday will be round seven for the Mini Super Toyotas, one of the busiest divisions at Madera Speedway. Patrick Geiger has four wins and a perfect six-for-six podium finishes to enjoy a 26-point lead over Tyler Ridley. Joseph Holliday is 31-points out of first place and ranks third in the standings.

Action kicks off Friday with practice. Pits open at 1pm with the track hot from 4pm to 8pm. Pit gates open at noon on Saturday for the Olga’s California Dream 100.
